April Fools! Sad News Today: I’m Shutting Down Hack The System

04/01/2014

in Stories

Well, we’ve had a great run.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor and pleasure of sharing many amazing memories with you.

You’ve seen me get slapped in the face over and over again.

I’ve shared the deepest parts of my soul. Yes, even my dark moments.

unnamed-2

You’ve been with me through very thick. And thin.

But I have a confession to make…

Hack The System just isn’t my passion anymore.

I want to show you new, original material that’s never been taught before.

I’ve been working so hard on my new book, and I’m finally ready to unveil it.

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 7.31.33 PM

The book is going to be revolutionary. In it, you’ll learn:

  • The step-by-step strategies for cutting in line at the supermarket
  • How to adopt pets from the ASPCA and sell them for high margins on the black market
  • How to disguise McDonalds as fine cuisine for a first date
  • Much, much more

Now, I know some of you may be a little upset. You probably have a lot of questions.

“Maneesh, I loved all your advice on habit formation and travel hacking — what am I supposed to do now?”

“Oh, God. No. Is this the end? Don’t play with my emotions. PLEASE tell us you have more to share.”

You know I’d never disappoint you. In fact, I’m opening up an entire suite of new courses. I really hope you enjoy them.

Readers from all over the world have been begging me to tell them more about my sandwich selection process. In fact, after my article on how to get a sandwich named after you went viral, I go inundated with requests to turn my knowledge into a full course.

Well, foccacia faces, here’s your chance.

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 10.16.28 PM

Making the perfect sandwich can be overwhelming — and let’s face it, many of us need our hands held with these types of life-altering decisions.

Rye, sourdough or cracked wheat?

Bologna, hard salami or honey maple turkey?

You shouldn’t have to face these tough obstacles alone.

This course is going to be incredible. I can’t reveal all the details yet, but I can share some of the features with you:

  • 127 modules on meat/cheese pairings — including the special “When To Use Mayonnaise” cheat sheet
  • Over 93 hours of in-depth interviews with sandwich experts — in full HD video
  • My rock-solid 17 minute guarantee — make your first dream sandwich in the first 17 minutes or your money back

Now, life isn’t all about sandwiches. And at a certain point, you’ll run out of money crafting all these deliciously expensive artisan snacks.

But what if I told you that I was working on a new master-course in making just enough money to feed yourself?

Would you believe me?

Introducing…

earn1kontheside_LOGO-web

This new course is even more powerful than “Find Your Dream Sandwich,” and readers have been begging me to tell teach them how to make real money. Your wish is my command.

I’m putting together even more courses like this — what would you like to see me work on next, as I transition away from Hack The System FOREVER?

Let me know in the comments.

oh yeah…..

one more thing….

Oh my god, you bastard. I was literally freaking out until I saw the butchered version of Ramit’s book (and other products), then I remembered what day it was. Aaah!

Anyway, thank you so much for sticking around and continuing to put out great content. You’re the best!

At first I thought it was legit. Then I saw the book cover and I thought… maybe he’s just using his brother’s book as a baseline (but obviously he’s going to redesign it).

Then things just kept getting more and more weird and I started thinking, ok now this is freakin’ strange.

Great gag dude… you had me… until you got super weird LOL

hahahaha, I was reading along thinking, “OK, I guess he’s ready to move on.” I got to the cover of your book and thought, “Ick, not another 6 week program. C’mon, Maneesh.” Then I got to the first hack–how to skip ahead in line, and started laughing so hard the neighbors were wondering. Ya got me. Thanks for a good belly laugh. Enjoy the day. 🙂

Hahahahahahaha; well done, Surrogate Asian Parent.

Reply

Hugh April 1, 2014 at 10:27 am

The order of my initial thoughts was:

1) Oh no … will there be accessible archives!?

2) This is rather cheeky … I wonder if Ramit will respond with anger or laughter …

3) Hmmm … I wonder what NPR’s joke is going to be today. (I remember when they ran a story all day that NPR had been purchased by Rupert Murdoch)

4) Well … now that I recognize that Maneesh *could* actually disappear … what are the ways I might like to run my life differently, in recognition of that possibility …

5) I’m really glad he’s still around … for now, at least. (And now it’s up to me to use every precious moment of life as wisely as I can manage to)

🙂

I honestly thought you were going to give up Hack the habit when I started reading the first few paragraphs. But soon realized that it is your way of making a fool out of your readers. Its a pretty good one actually. I expect you would have got hundreds of mails and comments asking you not to take such a drastic step. LOL.

As one of your brother’s students this made me laugh a lot hahaha

“I will hack you to be rich” seems like a legit title for a computer security cookbook on carding, virtual scams, and real and proven scripts you can use to scam people on the internet every day.
