3 Things To Look Forward To From Hack The System This Year

04/04/2014

in Stories

Wow.

What a week.

As most of us know, Monday was April Fools Day.

You know, April 1st, the same as last year?

So I decided to play a little joke on you guys by pulling a prank — and I told you that Hack The System was shutting down FOREVER.

Now, let’s back up for a second: HtS will always be a place to share ideas and experiment with unconventional ways of viewing the world. I don’t claim to be an expert — but I do try many approaches to living an extraordinary life, and I report my findings back to you.

Whether that means getting slapped in the face to increase my productivity

Or showing you how to break into networks

Or helping you create positive behavior change.

Basically, I’m your guinea pig — and I’m here to solve problems so that you don’t have to.

But sometimes, it’s good to have a little fun. Not every article I share with you has to be serious and life-changing.

So on Monday morning, I was chuckling as I pressed “publish” on my attempt at April Fools humor. I sat back with anticipation to see how many people would get the joke.

My readers are smart. 98% of you got the joke.

The post got dozens of comments like these that made me smile:

There were also some weird ones that I’ll just assume were compliments….(?)

Don’t hurt yourself, man.

But check this out…some people really DIDN’T get the humor:

Well. Ok.

Sorry for ruining your day. Please don’t corner me in a dark alley.

To everyone who enjoyed the joke — I LOVE YOU GUYS!

And, since Hack The System isn’t shutting down after all, I wanted to give you a little preview of what to expect for the rest of the year. Here are 3 things to look forward to:

1.) More experiments traveling the world, getting in better shape and making money

If you’ve liked reading Hack The System for the past 2 years, the rest of 2014 will be the best yet. I have some incredible experiments to share with you that I’ll reveal very soon. Stay tuned for those.

2.) The launch of Pavlok

If you’ve been keeping up, you know that I’ve been working hard in Boston to breathe life into my newest venture, Pavlok — the only wearable device that not only tracks your habits, but actually helps you change your behavior.

3.) The release of an all new course on building a location independent business

For years, I’ve been writing about how to live and work from anywhere in the world — and I’ve showed you time and time again how I’ve done it.

And every week, I get dozens of emails asking me to break down my process:

  • How do I create a business that will allow me to travel freely?
  • How do I meet interesting people and start fun side projects all over the world without worrying about money?
  • Is there a way to get the process started quickly?

Although I’ve written a lot of material on the subject — I realized that there was really no comprehensive, “all-in-one” framework to teach the process step-by-step. So I’ve decided to build it for you.

I’ll tell you more about that later, but for now, if you’re interested in getting behind-the-scenes updates about the course before it comes out, let me know by signing up below.

Did you take my previous course? I have no record of you being a member.

If I remember correctly, the course was based on building hub pages or squidoo lenses or something like that. At one point hubpages and squidoo were popular as google relied on them and indexed them high up on the search listings.

But then that changed. Squidoo and hubpages became less relevant. You even said in an interview that your income fell as the method you were using was no longer applicable.

Maneesh, I read your blog regularly and I benefit a lot. I respect you a lot. All I am saying that perhaps teaching us how to make money online may not be your specialty based on your previous course.

Maybe…just maybe you are good at so many things, but teaching others how to make passive income isn’t your specialty….yet.

I mean…that course is not even available anymore. Doesn’t that tell you something?
All I said in my previous unpublished comment was I hope that the course wasnt some temporary fad method that is not relevant right now.

Please dont censor me for having an opinion.

🙂

Hey…that class was from 2009 — 5 years ago. I’ve had multiple since then that are focused on email list building, opt-ins, automation, travel, and more. If you base my entire biz on a course you didn’t even take from five years ago (that did help a lot of people make a lot of money in its time), then I don’t know what to say.

Hey man

Im sorry….I just followed alot of Internet Marketers. And they all seemed to teach courses when the money making fad they were in was coming to an end. It was a last ditch attempt to make money.

Or some Internet marketers would not teach everything they knew. they wanted to make money, but didnt want to reveal all their knowledge either

I hope I didnt offend you

You are a good guy

While, being sixteen, I can’t really apply everything that you post, Maneesh, I do enjoy learning and trying some of your ideas out. You’ve helped me a great deal in developing any sort of potential I might have. Many skills that I might need in a job, I can find here.
Thanks for taking the time on this blog.

“‘How to adopt pets from the ASPCA and sell them on the black market for profit’

‘Really a-hole? – you’re a bonafide scumbag. Please die with the next breath you take!’

‘Dude, it’s April Fools. Chill out.'”

If the guy would have then followed it up with: “I know. I just April Fools’ed your April Fools :)”

..he would have won the internet.

For the record, I was actually fooled until I saw the book cover, and felt pretty dumb since this was right after I pulled a prank of my own!
