Passive Income Resources

Over the last four years, I’ve managed to build a passive income from nothing.

You’ve probably seen my YouTube video, from the Four Hour Workweek, where I showed how I made it happen. The video is below, and I start demonstrating how I built my first Passive Income Business at minute 3:30.

So here are the resources that I use to build my online business.

1) Website Hosting and Domain Registration – HostGator

I’ve gone through tons of different webhosts– dreamhost, 1and1, Page.ly, and several more. Every time I had a traffic spike, my site would crash. Or I would have to deal with bad support. Over time, it got to be very annoying—would I need to set up my own ($100/mo+) server to deal with it?

Enter, HostGator. Ever since I switched over, everything has been perfect. No hiccups, not once, on my blog. My content gets served up fast and on time. And their support is spectacular.

If you are trying to set up a blog, get your new domain at HostGator. It’s really cheap—starting at just $3.99/mo.

2) Email Newsletter Management – AWeber

Email marketing is one of the most effective, powerful ways to build income online. AWeber makes it simple to automate. You can set up emails that automatically send themselves after a specific amount of days, so you can Build A Story for new email subscribers.

AWeber has great live support, tutorial videos, and is an AWESOME resource for building your online newsletter. If you want to build income online, you need it.

Sign up for AWeber for just $1.

3) How to Build Passive Income Niche Sites with SEO – The Keyword Academy

I built my original passive income business using SEO and AdSense revenue. I wrote about it in depth in my article Passive Income 101: How To Travel The World Without Working.

The Keyword Academy gave me a step by step series of information about how to become a digital nomad. I learned the specifics of building niche sites. Using their knowledge, I supported myself for several years.

Learn about SEO and Passive Income for only $1 at The Keyword Academy.

That’s it! Those are the major tools I use to build online revenue.

Maneesh,
What happened to your NGO? Your website says that you had raised $11,006 as of Jan 2012, towards your goal of $12k… did you ever raise the remainder? Did the project in Cameroon get off the ground?
Cheers,
Aimee

Great resources and article.

Are you going to give us something about how to contract a post around a specific keyword/key-phrase?

It’s a great article and great tips, Thanks a lot!
After reading it I went and read The Keyword Academy’s 80 page eBook and one of the websites that they recommend working with is Keyword Project Manager. Now, for most things I don’t really need it, because I’m really quick with Excel, but they have this Keyword analysis that is (extremely slow, but) really useful for checking competition and PR for each keyword.
The thing is, that right now, I can’t afford a subscription to this website, so I wanted to know what’s your method (or advice) for checking PRs and competition.

Hi Maneesh,

Great video, thanks for posting it. I have a question I’m not too clear on, once you have your articles written around your keywords, where do you then post them online? And how do you get your income through Adwords? Am I right in guessing you have websites set up around your chosen keywords with a number of articles on them, with Google Adsense units on each article page? Or do you use article marketing sites like infobarrel.com?

I’d really love to hear back from you, I find this stuff really interesting and would like to try my hand at it as well!

Maneesh

Great material, I am using it to teach my two teenage children ( 15 & 13) how to be entrepreneurs and also as a mechanism to teach them experimental design. Maybe it’ll even pay for college, but at least it’ll give them confidence and some critical thinking skills!

Hey, Maneesh

Great information you have here. This is definitely a great resource for anyone who is looking to get started. I have personally used all of the services that you mentioned in this post, and I still use aweber and hostgator to power my business.

I don’t use the keyword academy much anymore, but that is actually where I got my start. Funnily enough, I never even read the guide that they had there when I first started, I ended up just figuring things out for myself. Great resource, though.
